1985 GMC High Sierra 4x4

Why This Car Is Special

General Motor Company produced the first Sierra in 1975 as a full-size pick-up truck for the Chevrolet C/K trim. The name Sierra differentiated the various trims in this line, such as the Sierra Classic and Sierra Grand.

The letter K denoted the model which had four-wheel drive, and the letter C the rear-wheel drive models.

The 1985 GMC 1500 Sierra Classic we have at Skyway Classics is a great truck, mostly original, great patina, and has a two-year old engine in it too.

Mechanical

Our GMC has had a new 350 cubic inch engine installed just two years ago in this truck that has been in Alabama all its life.

Everything else in this engine appears to be stock including the factory three speed automatic transmission, factory black painted air cleaner assembly, power steering, power brakes, air conditioning system, new hoses, and the dual exhaust system.

It runs and drives extremely well as the transmission shifts on the mark through all the gears and into 4WD properly and sits in a very clean and detailed engine compartment that looks factory fresh and it rides on black sidewall tires and GMC factory wheels with trim rings and caps.

Interior

The interior is very clean and looks very good with its tan bench seat with good upholstery, factory dash with all the correct gauges and controls, GMC black steering wheel, air conditioning, 4WD shifter, pushbutton radio, tan carpet, seatbelts, and floor mats.

The Sierra also came with electronic cruise control, power door locks and power windows.

Exterior

Our 1985 has the stock original two-tone tan/light tan exterior paint that is driver quality and original with patina. The 1985 truck had a revised grill design which had a thicker horizontal divider, rear and front bumpers, and full camper towing equipment.

Conclusion

This is a 3rd generation General Motors 1985 GMC 1500 High Sierra 4wd we have at Skyway Classics is a great truck to drive and enjoy and won't break the bank like a new one would.
