Solid 2011 BMW X3 28i
The BMW X3 is a compact luxury crossover SUV manufactured by German automaker BMW since 2003. Based on the BMW 3 Series platform, and now in its third generation, BMW markets the crossover as a Sports Activity Vehicle, the company's proprietary descriptor for its X-line of vehicles.
Designed to compete the Mercedes-Benz GLK-Class, Audi Q5, Porsche Macan, Jaguar F-Pace, and the Range Rover Velar, it slots below the larger X5 and the Coupé-like X6, but above the smaller X1 and the X2.
Why This Car Is Special
The BMW X3 28i that we have here at Skyway Classics most admirable trait is its versatility. It is comfortable on long hauls, has intuitive infotainment controls, an iPod hookup, satellite radio, comfortable seats, and an easy-to-use cruise control.
The dark grey X3 xDrive28i has one of the most celebrated engines in the BMW family. Engineering skill is shown off with a composite block of magnesium alloy for light weight, a valvetrain twiddled by Valvetronic and Double VANOS systems that does away with a throttle plate, and other slick, efficiency-boosting technology like Brake-Energy Regeneration.
This results in 240 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque from 3.0 liters that is attached to an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Ride and handling is aided by its 18-inch V-Spoke wheels with all-season run-flat tires, front & rear performance struts, coil springs, adjustable shocks, anti-roll bar, and multilink coil springs.
The quality of the matching dark grey bucket seat interior and interior materials is pure BMW with its door panels fully upholstered with higher quality leather, contrast stitching and increased quality of craftsmanship.
Great wood trim a nice center console, dash controls which are orange backlit plus a lot of features will surprise you. The infotainment system starts booting up when you unlock the car, the automatic windows keep rolling up after you've shut the engine off, the second button on the rear hatch that not only shuts it automatically, but locks the vehicle as well, the unobtrusive voice command system that seldom misinterprets speech, huge rear legroom, generous cargo capacity, and on.
The 2011 BMW X3 has been redesigned from ground up. At a first glance, you see a more modern design and a larger grille. The dark grey paint shines as new and all the trim and body panels are great.
The 2011 BMW X3 28i we have at Skyway Classics handles well, has good steering response, strong brakes and suspension. It is a great SUV with plenty good looks and performance to make your commute a friendly one. Come see it today.
