Description
1972 Chevrolet Chevelle
History
The Chevrolet Chevelle is a mid-sized automobile which was produced by Chevrolet in three generations for the 1964 through 1978 model years. Part of the General Motors (GM) A-Body platform, the Chevelle was one of Chevrolet's most successful nameplates.
Super Sport versions were produced through the 1973 model year. The 1972 Chevelle series had wide enough appeal to qualify as America's second-best-selling car.
Why This Car Is Special
The 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS arrived during a time of change for muscle cars. We have a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS Tribute here at Skyway Classics that has had a total restoration that began in 2012 until 2014. This is one of those cars that for not a lot of money compared to other Chevelle SS you can have a great looking Chevelle with the right looks, performance and handling.
Mechanical
The 1972 Chevelle we have has an original numbers matching 350 that has been rebuilt with a mild lift cam, Edelbrock intake and performance Edelbrock carb, headers, 3" exhaust all the way to the mufflers and then 2 1/2" tailpipe from mufflers back.
It is backed up by a 350 Turbo transmission and rides down the road on correct black factory 5-spoke mag wheels and B.F. Goodrich T/A Radials. The engine sits under a Cowl Induction hood, has cold blowing A/C, power steering and power brakes runs very strong.
Interior
The black split bench seat interior is in perfect shape with matching carpet, seat belts, floor mats, Chevy Radio, and all the correct factory parts as well as SS badging. This is a great restoration on a really great car.
Exterior
The SS has a stunning Dark Blue Metallic paint job with a new vinyl black top, great chrome and trim, black stripes on the hood and trunk, Cowl Inducton hood, and SS emblems on the Chevelle. This is a very well put together car.
1972 Chevelles featured single-unit parking/side marker lights on their front fenders, outside of a revised twin-bar grille. This one even has concealed wipers.
Conclusion
The 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle Tribute we have here at Skyway Classics is truly a great restored muscle car. The Super Sport Tribute package makes the Chevelle look brawny and this is truly a car that needs to be in your collection. Come see it today.
