1953 Kaiser-Frazer Henry J street rod!

1953 Kaiser Henry J

The Henry J was produced by the Kaiser-Frazer Corporation from 1950 to 1954 and was the brainchild of Henry J. Kaiser.

Why This Car Is Special

This car has been restored and customized beautifully to personify what a hot rod should be.

Mechanical

This car has been modified and upgraded in almost every mechanical way possible. Under the hood sits the legendary 350 Chevrolet V8. It has been modified with Summit aluminum heads, a polished aluminum intake, an Edelbrock AVS2 4-barrel carburetor with electric choke, full length headers running to big dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers, a Mallory Unilite distributor, MSD coil, Milodon deep oil pan, flex fan and billet pullies. The engine is dressed up in true 50s style with finned Edelbrock valve covers and air cleaner. The power is run through a Turbo 350 three speed automatic transmission and then routed to a built Ford 8” rear end. The rear end is held steady with ladder bars with adjustable coil over shocks and a panhard bar. The front end has tubular upper and lower control arms, power rack and pinion steering, and disc brakes. The brake booster and master cylinder are mounted under the driver floorboard on the frame for a clean firewall. With power steering, power brakes and A/C this Henry J is a wonderful driver.

Interior

With modern bucket seats, an Ididit tilt steering column and modern amenities, this Kaiser-Frazer is incredibly comfortable. The seats are upholstered in red vinyl and cloth and a B&M shifter mounted on the floor keeps you firmly in control of the power. Moon gauges not only look great, but help monitor engine conditions, and a big Moon tachometer is mounted nicely by the AM/FM/CD player. Subtle hot rod flames have been painted on the dash that make it appear the Henry J text is on fire. Moon floor mats bring it all together and protect the new red carpet.

Exterior

The paint job on this Henry J is one of a kind and over the top. A mirror finish is set off with hot rod flames with heavy metal flake that glistens in the sun. The colors fade into each other and the metal flake makes it look as if the flames are dancing. The base of the car is a high gloss black that really fits the curves of this street rod well. Up front a Mercury style grill gives this car a classy and more muscular look than the stock grill ever could have. Cragar SS wheels are always a good call on hot rods, and keep this car looking like a period correct build. The dual exhaust exits the rear with great looking chrome tips.

Conclusion

If you're looking to stand out at shows this is the street rod you need. She is a blast to drive and will bring you tons of attention.
