1947 Ford Pickup
Why This Car Is Special
Rat rods are very popular and this one is not just thrown together using junkyard parts like some you see. This is a solid, very mechanically sound old pickup.
Mechanical
The 350 Chevrolet V8 engine is built with an Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor with electric choke. An HEI ignition provides the spark while an aluminum radiator and electric fan keep this baby cool. Ceramic coated shorty headers running to dual exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers and big chrome exhaust tips sounds phenomenal. A Turbo 350 automatic runs to a Ford 9” rear end with a 4-link setup and coil over adjustable shocks. This truck rides great with a drop axle in the front with shocks and an inverse leaf spring along with disc brakes. How many rat rods do you see with A/C? Well, this truck has it and it will keep you nice and cool on summer cruises.
Interior
The interior is left pretty basic with a gray cloth bench seat, tilt steering column and Dolphin speedometer. New gauges throughout help you keep a close eye on that 350 engine. A nice chrome steering wheel has been added and looks great and leaves you plenty of room to get in and out with ease. The bed is finished off with new wood and a cool aluminum fuel tank. A vintage looking cooler has been added so you can keep your lunch and some drinks cool at the show.
Exterior
The exterior is a mash up of years and parts that all come together for a great custom cruiser look. Rally wheels with radial tires look nice and make for a good ride quality. The matte black paint is exactly what you expect on a rat rod style vehicle. Nice chrome headlights break up the black and bring other smaller chrome accents like the mirrors and door handles.
Conclusion
If you want to stand out at the shows and cruises, this could be the truck for you. Comfortable and cool as can be with tilt and A/C!
