1969 Mercury Cougar Convertible
Why This Vehicle is Special
We have a very nice stunning red 1969 Mercury Cougar Convertible in our showroom at Skyway Classics. With about three million cars produced, the Cougar was the highest selling Mercury brand ever produced.
Mechanical
Ours is a rare muscle car that is in fantastic restored condition with one of the best engines money can buy, the 351 cubic inch Windsor V8 2V standard Cougar engine with 250-horsepower is backed up by a three-speed automatic transmission.
The engine looks super with its correct shade of Ford Racing Blue paint on it and the valve covers and air cleaner assembly, with all its factory components and options like the power steering, power brakes, and air conditioning.
It rides on BFG Radial GT tires on the chrome factory Rally Wheels and has a great stance and sound to it too with its dual exhaust system coming out the back.
Interior
Our Cougar has a black dual cloth and bucket seat interior that is absolutely loaded with features like Kraco AM/FM Radio Cassette, white Automatic Convertible Top, Seatbelts, chrome floor shifter, simulated wood dash panels, factory gauge cluster, and matching rear seats.
Exterior
Our 1969, brought several new additions to the Cougar lineup. The grille switched from vertical bars to horizontal bars, the tail lights spanned the entire rear of the car and retained vertical chrome dividers, body sides featured a prominent line that swept downward from the nose to just ahead of the rear wheels, vent windows were removed, and it has hidden headlights and long flowing lines covered in bright red paint that looks great.
Conclusion
The 1969 Mercury Cougar Convertible in our showroom at Skyway Classics is not only sporty but handles and drives as well as any luxury car of its era. Take the top down and cruise to the shows and have fun is what this Cougar is all about.
