1968 Chevrolet Camaro COPO Survivor

Why This Car Is Special

It is not every day that you get a chance to purchase a 1968 Camaro COPO Special Order Verdoro Green with all its original drivetrain. But we have one here at Skyway Classics.

This Camaro drives like a dream, and is ready to take home trophies at every level.

Mechanical

Our COPO has the original numbers matching L30 327 cubic inch V8 engine that was factory rated at 275 horsepower and still rests under the hood. It has the original 4 speed transmission and 12 bolt rear as well as many of the small components like distributor alternator and such.

This Camaro is documented with the picture on the following web site that shows numbers on the engine, alternator, rear end, axles, drive shaft, and other numbers that it is THE ORIGINAL DRIVETRAIN!

It has power steering, power front disc brakes, and the A.I.R. air pump SMOG system too.

The Camaro has bias ply Red Line tires mounted on factory original Rallye Wheels.

Interior

The interior is excellent and several items have been replaced as needed like the front seat covers, package tray, and door panels and the steering wheel is in excellent original condition.

All the interior looks great with the twin bucket seats, gauges in the dash, Am/Fm Radio, carpet, and original 4-speed shifter on the floor.

Exterior

This Camaro COPO was purchased new at Jack Head that has been a California car since new with original black plates. The original owner wanted a new Verdoro Green Firebird but none were available so he ordered the Camaro from the local dealer.

For years it remained on the same street in California with only two owners. The outside is virtually rust free and we can only find a few imperfections near the lower rear passenger quarter. The hood and from the doors back look to be original metal and the front fenders and header are believed to have been replaced at one time.

All glass looks to be original, bumpers original as well as trim and lenses. It has a new black vinyl top and the trunk looks nice with the original spare tire, jack, and tools.

Conclusion

This Camaro COPO we have one here at Skyway Classics is very rare and desirable. If you want an example of a Gen 1 Camaro, with a stack of receipts and documentation, then tis 1968 is the one for you. You will be hard pressed to find a nicer one in this price range.
