1968 Yellow Chevrolet Camaro

The first-generation Chevrolet Camaro appeared in Chevrolet dealerships in September 1966 for the 1967 model year on a brand-new rear-wheel drive GM F-body platform and was built through the 1969 model year.

Why This Car Is Special

We have a 1968 Chevrolet Camaro that has been refinished in Butternut Yellow with black nose stripes and SS badging and is powered by a numbers-matching 327ci V8 and a four-speed manual transmission.

The last eight digits of engine identification stamp on our Camaro match the last eight digits of the VIN on the dash, and the “ME” suffix indicates a 210 horsepower 327 cubic inch V8 with an automatic transmission.

Mechanical

Power is provided by a numbers-matching 327 cubic inch small block Chevrolet V8 engine with the original automatic transmission that has been replaced by a four-speed manual transmission.

The engine has a lot of performance upgrades such as the Edelbrock intake manifold, aftermarket camshaft, a four-barrel carburetor, long-tube exhaust headers with dual Flowmaster mufflers, chrome open element air cleaner, chrome Chevrolet valve covers, high performance spark plug wires, and all sitting in a very clean, painted, and detailed engine compartment.

The Camaro has a 10-bolt rear end and rides on 17″ American Racing Torqe Thrust wheels and Nexen 5000 tires, 225/45 up front and 235/55 out back, and the braking is handled by four-wheel drums.

Interior

The interior has black vinyl twin bucket seats with matching carpets and door panels, black floor mats, and wood grain veneers on the center console and the center of the dash. It also has Hurst shifter and cue ball, fresh air vents, aftermarket wood rimmed steering wheel, “SS” horn cap, factory instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer and fuel gauge, with the odometer showing 52k miles.

Exterior

The styling of the 1968 Camaro had Astro Ventilation, a fresh-air-inlet system where the side vent windows were deleted. Originally white, the body was refinished in 2013 in Butternut Yellow with a black nose stripe and front and rear bumper guards, SS badges, and front and rear spoilers.

Conclusion

If you want a great street/strip muscle car Camaro, then look no farther than the 1968 Chevrolet Camaro we have at Skyway Classics.
