1940 Chevrolet Street Rod
Why This Car Is Special
It isn't too often that you will find a fresh build of a 1940 Chevrolet Street Rod on a late model chassis like the one we have here at Skyway Classics.
What you see is a combination of vintage and modern as it has a classic body with a modern drivetrain.
Mechanical
The engine compartment is dazzling with its bright red paint on the bay and matching paint on the 350 cubic-inch small block Chevy V8 engine block, intake, valve covers, and power accessories too.
It makes some good power with the Holley four-barrel carburetor, headers feeding a dual exhaust system exiting out the back thru chrome tips on each side, chrome open element air cleaner, HEI ignition and performance spark plug wires.
It glides down the road with power steering and brakes and has air conditioning to keep you cool.
It is backed by an automatic transmission and the late model undercarriage has a H.D. Chevy rear, while riding on great 5-spoke polished mag wheels and performance black wall tires.
Interior
Open those Suicide doors and gaze into the interior and you will see a fantastic restored plush cockpit with two reclining bucket seats in the front and a matching pair in the rear covered in a rich tan cloth and separated by a full length custom console from front to back and matching tan carpet. Headliner, and door panels.
There's GT steering wheel on a tilt column and a column-mounted shifter, the dash has a VDO gauges, and a JVC AM/FM stereo, as well as power door locks and windows.
Exterior
The first impression this Chevy makes is exceptional as it is painted in a brilliant red paint scheme that covers the custom body that has a custom rake with the chopped top and windshield.
The red has so much gloss that it really shows off the curves, fenders, trunk lid, bright pieces, like the distinct grille, headlights, and the chrome bumpers.
Conclusion
This 1940 Chevrolet Street Rod on a late model chassis we have here at Skyway Classics is such a great classic street rod that these pics do not do it justice. You will have to come see and drive this beauty.
