1968 Chevrolet Caprice Convertible
Why This Car Is Special
The Chevrolet Caprice was manufactured from 1965-1996 by General Motors. It was the most popular full-sized American car that was made in the sixties and seventies.
First offered as a sport sedan option in 1965, the Caprice became its own luxury series in 1966, with a host of accessories. We have a 1968 Chevrolet Caprice Convertible here at Skyway Classics that is very original with the correct M-Code 327 engine, repainted blue paint, original blue interior, and black convertible top.
Mechanical
The M-code 327 engine looks untouched in the engine compartment and resides between the frame rails of this beauty and it runs great. Backed by a Turbo 400 automatic and a 10-bolt rear end, this drivetrain is stout!
The engine is left virtually all stock with the original black snorkel air cleaner and decal, Chevrolet orange paint on the engine block, intake, and valve covers, and is optioned with power steering, power brakes, dual exhaust with turbo type mufflers that gives this car a quiet idle, but the sound of a V8 under throttle.
The wheels are Chevy stock steel wheels with chrome poverty hubcaps and red wall type tires to give it the correct period look.

Interior
Open the doors and you're given a firsthand look at the blue vinyl and cloth interior which is original. It has the front vinyl and cloth trimmed bench seat with a matching rear seat and door panels, column shifter, blue factory steering wheel, wood trim on the factory blue dash, sweeping speedometer, clock, and all other factory gauges.
The woodgrain accents inside give this Caprice a bit more of a luxury feel than its muscle car counterparts and is offset by the blue carpeting, black convertible top, and the blue top boot.
Exterior
Finished in an attractive blue hue with a black convertible top, the coke bottle shaped body is in great condition. The condition of the body and the panel fitment is great and this car is long and low and looks great in in the blue shade.
The black stripes run down the sides perfectly and all the chrome on the bumpers and bumperettes give it a luxurious feel to the exterior as well. This car is straight and solid and is sure to set you apart from the crowd at shows and cruises.
Conclusion
If you're in the market for a clean cruiser with great looks, then the 1968 Chevrolet Caprice Convertible here at Skyway Classics with the correct M-Code 327 engine, original interior, and blue paint with a convertible top is the one for you.
