1965 Ford Mustang Coupe.
1965 Ford Mustang Coupe
1965 was the first year for the Ford Mustang and they sold like no other car before it ever had. Early 65 Mustangs (64 ½ as some people refer to them) had some other engine options and minor cosmetic and mechanical differences from the later 65 cars. This is a later version, so you have an alternator instead of a generator.
Why This Car Is Special
This is a very solid and clean car with a unique and super cool color combination of Graphite Metallic on the exterior with a nice Blue on the interior. It goes together very well and will certainly make your Mustang stand out in a crowd!
Mechanical
This is a real deal “C” code Mustang. That means it left the factory with this completely rebuilt 289 CID V8 rated at 200 horsepower. This engine is beautifully detailed and dressed up with chrome Edelbrock air cleaner and valve covers and a chrome fan shroud. Dual exhaust with an H-pipe exit the rear and sound great. Not overpowering, but enough of a rumble to know it's a V8 car. The Cruise-O-Matic transmission shifts on the floor and sends the power to the Ford 8” rear end. This car runs and drives great and is ready to cruise and show. The carburetor and fuel tank have also been replaced recently.
Interior
The interior is mostly stock with a few nice upgrades. The back panels around the rear seat have been painted to match the exterior of the car. A modern AM/FM radio has been installed with new speakers in the package tray and dash. There is a new dash pad installed, not a cheap cover, but an actual entirely new pad along with a new headliner and steering wheel. This Mustang has bucket seats and a center console with the T-handle shifter and front seat belts.
Exterior
One year old Graphite Metallic paint is set off with brand new American Racing Torque Thrust wheels with gray centers. The tires, wheels and chrome lug nuts have less than 10 miles driven since installed. The paint is broken up nicely with satin black stripes and rocker stripes reminiscent of the Mustang GT. A brand-new gas cap has been installed along with new headlights. The factory 289 emblem on the fenders not only look cool, but they let everyone know this is no slouch. 205/70 tires are slightly bigger than the factory size but fill the wheel wells nicely with no rubbing.
Conclusion
There are not too many V8 first generation Mustangs for sale in this price bracket, so move fast! This car has looks to kill and a unique color combination that is sure to impress at shows.
