Why This Vehicle is Special The fastest production Oldsmobile in 1968 was the W30 Package Ram Air equipped 442 W-30 4-speed coupe that boasted dual air intakes feeding its 400/360 HP V-8. Just 246 W-30 Sport coupes were equipped with this car's close-ratio Muncie 4-speed, but even fewer are around today. We have a pristine Black one with documentation here at Skyway Classics!
Mechanical Our 442 has a period correct 400 engine completely rebuilt, documented, very strong sounding with performance cam, factory exhaust headers and performance exhaust and mufflers flowing out the factory tips.
It is painted in the factory copper color and is sitting in a very detailed and clean engine compartment with all the right original valve covers, new chrome air cleaner with original included, and factory everything else too. W-30 option cars were equipped with Ram Air intake hoses leading from a chrome-topped dual snorkel black air cleaner to special under-bumper air scoops and set off by bright red plastic fender wells . W-30s were rated at 360 hp. Car Life also tested a four-speed W-30 with 4.33 rear end gears and recorded a 13.3 at 103.30 mph, which shows you how quick these W30 442s really were.
Interior The original black bucket seat with chrome console, black carpet, factory dash and gauges, looks fantastic as does the interior options including Wood grain Sports tilt steering wheel, AM/FM radio with power antenna, Stereo Tape Player, tinted glass, safety belts, floor mats and much more.
Exterior Our 442 is mostly original but for a 1994 repaint of original AA Code Black Paint. It has the F-41 rear- sway bar, boxed control arms, Red Rally Stripe, optional bright exterior trim package, Super Stock 1 wheels and, great Redline tires.
The 442 also retains the original window sticker and a wooden ruler from the selling dealer stashed in the clean and detailed trunk which has a factory black mat, spare Super Stock Wheel, and tire.
